Nashville Superstar Returns Home for a Sold-Out Evening to Benefit Polo for Life

WELLINGTON, FL — February 17, 2020 — Country music fans packed into White Horse Fashion Cuisine for an unforgettable night as Nashville hitmakers Wynn Varble and Gary Hannan took the stage to raise funds for Polo for Life, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families.

The sold-out benefit concert featured not only powerful performances but also heartfelt storytelling from two of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters. Guests were treated to the stories behind chart-topping hits like “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and other classics made famous by Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Willie Nelson, Kellie Pickler, Trace Adkins, and Lee Ann Womack.

Wynn Varble Comes Home

For Wynn Varble, the night was also a homecoming. Before moving to Nashville, Wynn spent part of his life in Wellington, even working at the local Red Barn. Returning to his roots, he performed crowd favorites such as “The Jackass Song,” “Bird Dog Bra,” “Hump You and the Camel You Rode In On,” “Tough,” “Cycle Song,” and “Right.” Each song was paired with Wynn’s trademark humor and quick wit, making for a night of laughter as well as music.

An Evening of Music, Laughter, and Purpose

The intimate crowd included Wellington’s finest, among them top polo players and longtime supporters of Polo for Life. Founder Brandon Phillips, himself a pediatric cancer survivor and professional polo player, shared why the evening was so meaningful:

“As a childhood cancer survivor myself, this cause is very close to me. I’m thankful for Wynn and Gary for coming all the way from Nashville to support us. They are both incredibly talented and hilarious — I knew it would be a fun night.”

Varble echoed the sentiment, saying:

“It’s truly an honor for me to be able to come back to my old stomping grounds and lend support to those in need.”

Polo for Life’s Impact

Since its founding, Polo for Life has raised nearly two million dollars to benefit pediatric cancer patients and their families. What began in 2014 as Polo for a Purpose — a charity polo match and dinner founded by Terrie Mooney and Brandon Phillips — has grown into one of the area’s most impactful charitable efforts.

With events like this sold-out evening of country music, Polo for Life continues its mission to provide hope, resources, and support for children and families facing pediatric cancer.
