Polo for Life Announces the Creation of the Monarch Fund

Monarch Fund to Provide Pediatric Cancer Patients and Their Families with Financial Stability After Treatment

WELLINGTON, FL – January 16, 2020 – Polo for Life has announced the launch of the Monarch Fund, a newly established initiative dedicated to helping families rebuild financially after their child has completed cancer treatment.

Studies show that nearly half of all families facing pediatric cancer are forced to file for bankruptcy due to overwhelming medical expenses. The Monarch Fund seeks to change that reality by offering direct financial assistance and restoring hope for families who have been financially devastated by a cancer diagnosis.

All funds will go directly to families in need, with referrals coming through Polo for Life’s trusted partner organizations.

Polo for Life expressed deep gratitude to NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his wife Ashley, U.S. Polo Assn. brand ambassador and founder of Monarch Reign, for their instrumental role in making the Monarch Fund possible.

Inspired by the monarch butterfly, a universal symbol of rebirth and transformation, the Monarch Fund is designed to give families the opportunity to start fresh and regain financial equilibrium after enduring the hardships of pediatric cancer treatment.

“We started Monarch Reign with a purpose — to give back, to make our world a better place, and help those in need,” said Ashley and Kurt Busch in a joint statement. “We can’t think of a better way to make a difference than through the creation of the Monarch Fund. Alongside Polo for Life, our goal is to give families the resiliency to rebuild after such a difficult time.”

Terrie Mooney, co-founder and executive director of Polo for Life, added:

“The Monarch Fund is a gamechanger for Polo for Life. With this fund, we can have a direct impact on the lives of pediatric cancer patients by helping them and their families achieve financial stability. We are extremely grateful to the Busch family for their generosity and commitment to this important cause.”
